Abstract

[Co/Pd] multilayers with strong magnetic anisotropy have gained huge interest due to their potential applications in high-density magnetic recording media. In this study, we have been investigated systematically the dependence of the perpendicular magnetic anisotropy of [Co(tCo)/Pd(tPd)]N multilayers on the structural parameters such as the multilayer repetition number (N), thickness of Co layer (tCo) and thickness of Pd layer (tPd). The correlation between structural and magnetic properties such as coercivity (HC), the saturation magnetization (MS) as well as the magnetic anisotropy constant (KU) in these multilayers has been discussed in detail.
