Abstract

The Beat sensor is a new technique suitable for applications in smart environment monitoring with the requirements of low power consumption and compact IoT sensor circuits. This paper proposed and verified a new solution for designing an efficient temperature sensor based on the Beat sensor principle to sense the temperature range from -20°C to 50°C with suitable accuracy. The experimental results have clarified this Beat sensor’s high potential for applications in smart environment monitoring systems. Moreover, the long-range wireless communication protocol (LoRa) is proposed for this long-range, energy efficient smart monitoring system.
