Abstract

The high-pressure gaskets in gauges and sensors of measuring devices on navy warships was made from pure copper. The high-pressure gaskets, after being fabricated, was heat-treated to recover its properties after hardened. The microstructure, hardness, fracture toughness and tightness of the product were investigated. The results showed that, after annealing at 450 °C for 60 minutes, the heating rate 5 °C /min, cooled down with the furnace, the crystallization process happened completely, the copper crystals had twin structure; material in soft state with hardness of 41.26 HB. High-pressure gasket had good fracture toughness and good tightness. The gasket did not crack when was compressed under pressure of 400 bar for 5 minutes. When gasket was compressed under pressure of 250 bar for 5 minutes, the pressure drop was 0,04 %.
